Sheryl Shewell wowed us last week with her soaring stories! A member of the Hamilton, Texas soaring club, Sheril is a glider pilot! She spends her days off soaring the skies all over Texas. Sheryl gave us an overview of the gliding business & how she got into it as a hobby. It seems to be a family business, since her commercial pilot father also became a competitive glider pilot, as has her brother.
Sheryl brought a model of a modern glider, plus a model of the Concorde commercial airplane, which her father once flew. You can find out more about soaring through the Soaring Society of America.
