| Rotary takes part in event alongside the UN General Assembly |
| Rotary leaders and members took part in the "United to Finish the Job" event held alongside the 80th United Nations General Assembly in September. The event was co-hosted by the World Health Organization, UNICEF, the Global Polio Eradication Initiative, and the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre (KSRelief). It addressed the urgent need to end wild polio transmission in Afghanistan and Pakistan and strengthen the response to variant poliovirus outbreaks in fragile settings across Africa and Asia. International PolioPlus Chair Michael K. McGovern was a speaker on the “Polio Today – A Shared Responsibility” panel. District Governor Ramesh Ferris, a polio survivor, spoke alongside a UNICEF youth advocate from Madagascar. |
