Rotarian Scott Rainey, District 5870's Minister of Culture, is our speaker for Tuesday, September 1.  His topic will focus on “Club Culture.”

We will be meeting, as normal, at noon back at 602 Brewing Co. on Bastrop's Main Street.

One day can make a life-changing difference.

We had a great turn out for our social last Friday night at Film Alley.  Bowling seemed to be a big hit!

We were also collecting for our new BISD Partner school, Colorado River Collegiate Academy (CRCA). The Club will be looking to meet needs for teachers & students throughout the 2026-27 school year.  You will have a chance to contribute to the cause on Tuesday, if you missed at the social.

Fellowship was wonderful & the food was - surprise, surprise - very good!  This might be a repeat venue for socials!

On a recent episode of the Rotary Voices podcast, Pulitzer Prize winner Tina Rosenberg explains how journalism focused on solutions can make a difference in the world — and what Rotary clubs can learn from this approach. Listen to the conversation.
A Colorado Expedition

After witnessing a granddaughter's beautiful wedding in Denver at the end of July, Rotarian Michal spent the next 10 days exploring Colorado without snow.  Except for some wa-a-ay high white stuff in Rocky Mountain National Park, there was no snow.  Weather was generally as hot as an un-greased griddle, and there was no rain.  A lot of haze from wildfire smoke…

Despite the lack of cool mountain air, Michal was undaunted.  She managed to enjoy the following locations: Rocky Mountain NP, Black Canyon of the Gunnison NP (both rims), Colorado National Monument, a train ride from Durango to Silverton, and a couple of days at Mesa Verde.

There were many "signs" of local Rotary Clubs, but none were on the itinerary.  Lots of memories, photos & videos, just three of which are attached:
