Rotary Texas Service Day was a huge success in our neck of the woods! Bastrop Rotary & friends put 20 kids into beds of their very own last Saturday night! Look at the turnout of volunteers! Bastrop Club members & some family, folks from the Church for Latter Day Saints (they also donated handmade pillows for the kids!), & more workers from University Area Rotary in Austin came eastward to participate!!!

Special thanks to Dave Wells who was a magnificent logistician (is that a word?!) & mapped everything out for FIVE different teams.  Also to Vicky Lindsey for corralling & organizing all the bed linens, blankets, pillows, etc.

And a HUUUGE thank you to all who showed up to help.  It really did take a village to put this success together.

The beds/linen stash still has seven beds in it.  We will announce another opportunity soon to install these last beds.

The Steve & Les Show brought us up-to-speed  on the planning and prep progress for our 1st Annual Golf Tournament fundraiser.  It is clear we still have a lot of work to do.  We still need sponsors, auction items and workers for the day-of (Monday, April 27, 2026).

Now is the time to be “People of Action”!

Rotary clubs provide clean water in more ways than one
On World Water Day, 22 March, we reflect on the many ways Rotary members are helping to provide clean water, sanitation, and improved hygiene year-round. In this roundup, we look at one of the first global grants awarded by Rotaract members in Ghana, which installed 80 microflush toilets, drilled two boreholes, and built 10 urinals for eight schools in the Ashanti region. Other projects include rainwater collection and purification for Indigenous communities in Mexico, sand dams for farmers in Kenya, and a water purification plant for a hospital in the Dominican Republic.
