President Steve gave a rousing talk at his first meeting as 2026-27 leader, reminding us that our Club should address needs throughout Bastrop County. He pointed out that though the Club is very inclusive, we have failed to become diverse.Diversity is a goal to guide recruitment for Club membership and volunteer participation this year.
The Club will continue with its past community priorities and fellowship traditions, such as “scatter” meetings and quarterly socials.In addition, Steve would like to explore installing a Rotary Peace Pole somewhere in the County and to encourage the Club’s involvement in Youth Exchange activities.
He challenged us, “How are we changing Bastrop County? What are we doing that will leave a lasting impact?”
THANK YOU to Kimberlee Dugey, of VeraBank, for stepping up to be our Club Secretary for 2026-27!! Our past Secretary, Karen Trevino, & District Governor Chief of Staff, Barbara Najera, have already pitched in to give Kim a good start in her new role with advice and links to training webinars.
