Jesus Avila picked up his new welding gear last week, courtesy of the $5,000 District 5870 CTES Scholarship he was awarded after our Club submitted his application. Jesus graduated from Bastrop High this Spring and begins a new job and professional welding training this Fall. He will be working in Austin with UA Local Union 286 for Plumbers & Pipefitters, and has a very bright future awaiting him in a much-needed profession. We hope to see him at lunch a few times before he starts his real life!
